Instructional Designer – Aberdeen Office

Based in our Aberdeen office, this role will involve writing high quality e-learning content for the Oil and Gas Industry in line with relevant e-learning standards and industry best practice. You will be part of a small, highly motivated team where you will work with colleagues and clients to create innovative learning solutions for a global industry.

Desired Experience and Skills:
Some of your responsibilities will include…

  • Assisting in the creation of all aspects of training across the organisation, including the development of e-learning content, focussing on scripting and design reviews
  • Liaising with Training Managers and Subject Matter Experts to ensure that all training content is relevant, valid and up to date
  • Developing content design documents which meet course objectives, within the constraints of the project, and in consultation with the Development Team to ensure that all proposals are technically feasible and aligned to e-learning best practice
  • Developing challenging and interactive assessments in line with client requirements and industry standards
  • Regularly liaising with clients and travelling to sites as and when required
  • Guiding, supporting and advising clients on the benefits and implications of all proposed learning solutions in line with SCORM standards and e-learning best practice
  • Managing content development throughout the project to ensure that it meets design requirements, budgets and client development schedules
  • Ensuring that any produced materials comply with our QA policies and procedures
  • Organising and participating in client reviews

An understanding of training principles and different pedagogical approaches

e-learning/teaching experience/qualification, or Oil and Gas knowledge/experience

Sound commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes a company successful
